Front of House Team

The Assistant Manager is responsible for motivating and inspiring the restaurant team to achieve store productivity goals. The Assistant Manager assists the Restaurant Manager in analyzing week-to-date, period-to-date, and year-to-date sales to help develop action plans to increase sales. This includes being responsible for managing budgets to ensure store contributions are on target, ensuring the collective skills of the staff are performing at a high level, and maintaining a positive customer experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effective manages store operations ensuring consistency and compliance with restaurant policies.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in restaurant duties and responsibilities.
  • Oversee and maintain a welcoming environment for the customers ensuring excellent customer service and food quality.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in providing a strong leadership presence among the staff.
  • Having keen knowledge of restaurant menu items.

Back of House / Kitchen Team

We don’t just serve Southern soul food. We do it with a Cajun Creole twist, and we want to teach you how. As part of our Kitchen Team, you will help maintain our high food standards. This includes preparation and culinary execution of all menu items as well as adherence to industry standards for food quality, safety, and cleanliness. A Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall operations for the back of the house and kitchen area of a restaurant. Kitchen managers purchase food and stock and make sure everyone is trained on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques. In addition, kitchen managers ensure that the company’s standards are upheld: the food looks good and is cooked properly, the proportions are correct, and it is cooked and served quickly. Kitchen managers also make sure that the kitchen is properly cleaned on a regular schedule, food is disposed of properly, and the kitchen meets all sanitary standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee all staffing responsibilities for the front of the restaurant, including hiring, firing, evaluating, and disciplining.
  • Ensure that all food products are consistently prepared and served in accordance with the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Responsible for ordering all food products to predetermined product specifications and received in the correct unit, count, condition, and deliveries are received in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures.
  • Control food cost and usage by following standard recipes and waste control procedures, including checking and maintaining proper food handling, holding, refrigeration, and temperature control points.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is kept clean and in excellent condition through personal inspections and following preventative maintenance.
  • Oversee training of all kitchen personnel in the safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Responsible for training kitchen personnel in cleanliness and sanitation practices.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment (floors, mats, walls, hoods, etc.), food, and storage areas.
  • Assist with additional tasks and duties given by the owner.

The prep cook’s role is to cook the appropriate fryer items in a timely fashion to maintain the restaurant’s high productivity levels. This also includes upholding standards for health, sanitation, safety, and quality. The fry cook also assists other cooking staff in preparing other menu items as assigned. This role works in a fast-paced, busy environment and requires teamwork. Our deep fry cooks play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and the highest level of food quality.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Cooks the exact number of items ordered per order
  • Verify all prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
  • Prepare all fried food items in a timely and efficient manner
  • Check all food orders for completion of all deep-fried items
  • Stock and organize the fry station with required items as needed
  • Clean assigned areas of the kitchen and maintain a tidy and safe cooking space
  • Clean food preparation areas, deep fryer, and change the oil as needed
  • Prepare and prep food items daily

The prep cook’s role is to assist in the preparation of the delicious dishes created within the restaurant kitchen. These tasks include setting up workstations and ingredients so all food can be prepared efficiently and in accordance with established recipes. All prep cooks should be quick and diligent multitaskers with a willingness to improve and excel on the job. This role works in a fast-paced, busy environment and requires teamwork. Our prep cooks play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and the highest level of food quality.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Follows prep list and instructions in accordance with recipes.
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they are organized and easily accessible.
  • Measure all ingredients and seasoning to be used in cooking.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing, chopping, and cutting meat and vegetables.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties (reducing sauces, etc.) assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Maintain clean and orderly kitchen flow by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, removing garbage, etc.
  • Ensure all food items and ingredients are stored properly
  • Willing to be a team player
  • Comply with sanitation guidelines set by the restaurant
  • Ensure company standards are being met and upheld for customer and restaurant food quality
  • Maintains and follows all company health, safety, and security policies and procedures
